A free service available to homebound Barrington residents
Barrington Public Library Homebound Delivery Service brings books, paperbacks, audiobooks and magazines to residents of Barrington who are physically unable to get to the library, including those who are residents of nursing homes or in assisted living facilities. These may be people who are unable to drive or others who have a temporary or permanent physical impairment that prevents their being able to come to the library.
Deliveries are made the first Wednesday of the month from 2 to 4 p.m., although winter weather may cause us to schedule an alternate day. All items are checked out for one month, with a limit of 15 items per person. For any questions about this program, please call the Reference Desk at 401-247-1920, ext. 2.
If you have a very severe physical disability or are legally blind, you could qualify for free books on tape from the Talking Books Plus Program at the Office of State Library Services. The phone number for the program is 401-574-9310.
