The results are in!  This past year Barrington Library had its highest circulation counts ever!  In Fiscal ‘09, Barrington Library circulated 420,482 books, movies, and other library materials.  That’s an 11 percent increase over last year!  Seems that folks in town can’t get enough of their library-and we love it that way!

Attention Computer Users ~ Due to increased demand for the use of the Library’s Public internet computers, the Library’s Trustees have approved the following, effective July 1, 2009: With a valid Ocean State Library or a guest pass patrons are granted one hour of computer use. MESSAGE TO BPL PATRONS: To make a long story short, our statewide network made an address change for the Millennium OPAC Catalog. The old address (which lives in many of our devices here and those of our patrons at home), needs to be updated to avoid a benign but, confusing security alert message. EASY fix for patrons having trouble getting access to our online catalog: for @ home direct patrons IS to USE our website www.barringtonlibrary.org then use the links for the catalog from there....

Library Summer Hours! Starting July 1st, the library begins summer hours, which means the library will be open from 9 AM to 8 PM, on Mondays through Thursdays. Fridays and Saturday hours will remain as 9 PM to 5 PM Also, Sunday hours have ended for the summer and will begin again on September 13th.

Vera Kurmasheva and Zhanat Baidaralin, founders and co-directors of Ballet Prestige, the Russian Style Ballet Studio in Bristol, RI, arrived at Barrington Public Library this morning along with a dedicated cadre of volunteers to set our stage for the school's upcoming spring performance on Saturday, May 30 at 2:00 PM.
