On February 22, 2016 the library's cookbook club met for dinner with Alice Water's The Art of Simple Food: Notes, Lessons, and Recipes from a Delicious Revolution and The Art of Simple Food II: Recipes, Flavor, and Inspiration from the New Kitchen Garden. The first book was published in 2007 and the follow-up book was published in 2013, both by Clarkson Potter Publishers.

On January 25, 2016 the library's cookbook club met for dinner with Jenny Rosenstrach's, Dinner: A Love Story published Harper Collins in 2012.
When I first noticed this cookbook, it stood out from the crowd with its patchwork cover and diary turned cookbook theme. The photographs were sweet depictions of daily family life that didn't aim for perfection, but rather like the diary theme, were merely a record of lives being lived.

On Monday, December 21 the library's cookbook club met for dessert with The Gourmet Cookie Book: The Single Best Recipe From Each Year 1941-2009 by the editors of Gourmet magazine, published in 2010 by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

On September 21, 2015 the library's cookbook club met for dinner with Melissa Clark's In the Kitchen with a Good Appetite: 150 Recipes & Stories About the Food You Love.
Our group grew in size from 13 the month before to 19 for our second meeting. More members in attendance means more dishes to sample, and with 150 recipes in this book, 19 only scratched the surface of what it has to offer.

Reading in the Kitchen: a cookbook club held it's inaugural meeting on Monday, August 17, 2015. I chose Local Flavors: Cooking & Eating From America's Farmers' Markets by Deborah Madison because the timing seemed just right for the end of summer.
