Josie has had enough. Her ex-partner, more of a man-child, is getting married and wants their two kids to join him in Florida, she’s lost her dental practice and is getting sued, she 
grieves for the life of a young man who used to babysit her exuberant kids and later became a war casualty, not to mention dealing with the lack of support from parents from whom she liberated herself at the age of 16. Josie flees her life in Ohio, headed to Alaska in a rickety rented RV with Paul and Anna in an attempt to find somewhere she belongs. Of course, she has no plan and most of Alaska is on fire, but with every turn and adventure Josie rediscovers a strength she didn’t know existed as they venture farther into this new frontier.
