Stroll this one-mile loop and read "The Belonging Tree" by Maryann Cocca-Leffler; illustrated by Kristine A. Lombardi while you enjoy the beautiful trails of this protected property.
The Barrington Land Conservation Trust, Inc. is a private, non-profit, tax-exempt group. Its purpose is to preserve the remaining natural resources of Barrington, Rhode Island and adjacent areas including water resources, streams, ponds, marshlands, woodlands, and scenic and natural sites, as well as the plant and animal life.
Directions to Sowams Woods (Not Sowams School): The Woods are located at the corner of South Lake Drive and Washington Road in Barrington. Please park on Spinnaker Drive or Lighthouse Lane and start the walk on Washington Road.
