"Kevin's Catch" a Fun-Filled Fishing Adventure

Spend a day in the life with our library fishermen friend Kevin. Participants will make fishing poles, touch bait, learn about sun safety and climb aboard the kayak. Recommended for kids ages 6+. Registration opens on July 16; limited spaces available.
 
This program will be held indoors in the event of inclement weather or unhealthy air quality. Masks will be required.

Gazebo Pond Story Walk

Stroll the Gazebo grounds behind the library (at your own leisure) and read Oddbird, a charming story about learning how to fit in while celebrating your own uniqueness.

Take it a step further and enter our Oddbird Raffle. Think about what makes you unique and create your Oddbird!

Virtual Chess Camp -FULL

Join our Free Virtual Summer Chess Camp which will consist of five one-hour long sessions. Learn how to play chess, tips and tricks to keep in mind while playing, easy-to-master but very useful tactics, and much more. In order to successfully play and learn, it's best to use a computer or laptop as opposed to an ipad or any other device. 

Outdoor Story Time

Pack your blankets or camping chairs and join us for Outdoor Story Time at Library Cove (the waterfront field on the back side of the library.) We will share stories, songs and socialization in a safe way. This program is recommended for kids birth to five-years old, but all ages are welcome to attend. Parents or caregivers must accompany children to story time. Kindly stay at home if you or anyone in your party isn't feeling well. Masks are required if you will be going inside of the library after story time. 

Dave Marchetti Animal Experiences - FULL

Join Dave Marchetti for an awesome outdoor animal experience! Get an up-close look at his loveable critters with plenty of time left for answers to your must-know questions. 

Registration opens on June 30; limited spaces available. For all ages.
THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD INDOORS (MASKS REQUIRED FOR UNVACCINATED PATRONS)
IF IT RAINS.

Kahoot & Craft -- FULL

Kahoot & Craft with us for the 2021 Kids Reading Across RI (KRARI) book selection, Becoming Muhammad Ali. We'll play a Kahoot, watch clips from a real Ali boxing match before going outside to work off some steam. Each participant will receive their own copy of the book to keep. Registration is required; limited to 12 attendees. This program is recommended for kids in grades 4-7. Please bring a phone, tablet or chrome book with you. Craft materials will be supplied by the library.

Kids Summer Reading Station - OUTSIDE!

Stop by our NEW Summer Reading Station (OUTSIDE) and share what you are reading with one of the Barrington Public Library Summer Reading Crew Members. Snap a selfie in our photo booth, paint a pet rock, or design a bookmark!

We'll be sitting at the picnic tables near the Gazebo Pond every Wednesday and Thursday between the hours of 11 am - 2 pm. Earn a Beanstack virtual raffle ticket - each time you visit - towards any of our great raffle prizes!
