Join librarian Doug Swiszcz for another of his lecture series on classic movies, this one a salute to great courtroom dramas.
Based on the real-life Scopes monkey trial of 1925, in which a teacher was arrested for teaching Darwin's theory of evolution in a state-funded school, this drama pits a Clarene Darrow-like defense attorney (Spencer Tracy) against a prosecutor (Frederic March) modeled on William Jennings Bryan.
Come enjoy the film in our newly renovated Salem Family Auditorium, with comfortable new seats and improved acoustics.
