She first worked as a research scientist, earned a Masters in Education from William and Mary, taught high school Biology, and after having children, spent seven years on Etsy and the artisan fair circuit as Dancing Threads RI selling handmade bags and accessories. She opened Stitchery in Portsmouth, RI, in February 2017 as a studio space offering a wide range of needle arts classes.
