Join librarian Doug Swiszcz for another of his lecture series on classic movies, this one a salute to actor Sidney Poitier.

A sheltered blind white girl falls in love with a kind young man whom she meets in the park, but is unaware that he is black. Shelley Winters won a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for her portrayal of the girl's slatternly, abusive mother.
