Tracy leads an outstanding ensemble cast in this courtroom drama about the 1948 trial of four German judges, whose actions on the bench supported the heinous actions of the Nazi regime during Hitler's reign. To what extent were these men culpable? Were they merely enforcing orders from those above them? Tracy plays the retired American judge who is heading up this trial. Co-starring Richard Widmark, Maximilian Schell, Burt Lancaster, Marlene Dietrich, Judy Garland, and Montgomery Clift. Directed by Stanley Kramer, with an Academy Award-winning screenplay by Abby Mann.
