One star rises as another falls in this story of alcoholic film actor Norman Maine (James Mason) and the young singer/actress (Garland) whom he mentors. Can their love shield them from the perils of show business? This George Cukor-directed classic features a great Harold Arlen-Johnny Mercer score, including "The Man That Got Away."
