Computer Basics, Part 4: Internet Safety Basics - Learn how to protect yourself from scams, dangers, and misinformation in the online environment. Includes how to evaluate websites and create strong passwords.

Registration is recommended. Register below, or contact the Reference Desk at 401-247-1920 x2. If you choose to bring your laptop, please include your computer's operating system in the form below. You do not need to attend Parts 1-3 to register for this class, although minimal computer experience is expected.

Register for either Tuesday, October 30 at 10 am OR Thursday, November 1 at 7 pm.

Registrants are encouraged to sign up for one or all four tech classes as part of the Computer Basics series. All tech classes are listed here: Tech Classes. Each class will be taught twice; once in the morning, once in the evening. Please register for one option per class to allow more people to attend.

Computer Basics, Part 1: Introduction to the Computer (Tuesday, October 9 at 10 am OR Thursday, October 11 at 7 pm)
Provides an introduction to mouse, keyboard, and desktop.

Computer Basics, Part 2: Internet & Search Engines (Tuesday, October 16 at 10 am OR Thursday, October 18 at 7 pm)
Provides an introduction to internet and search engines.

Computer Basics, Part 3: Gmail Basics (Tuesday, October 23 at 10 am OR Thursday, October 25 at 7 pm)
Provides an introduction to email. You do not need a Gmail or email account to attend.

Computer Basics, Part 4: Internet Safety Basics (Tuesday, October 30 at 10 am OR Thursday, November 1 at 7 pm)
